Before we define a book group, lets look at what a Group is. A Group as defined by Encarta World English dictionary is a number of people sharing something in common such as an interest or belief. This is an attribute of a book group. A Book Group is a number of people gathering to sharing a common interest in books of a specific genre or a variety of genres.

There are different types of groups that come together with Books as a topic of discussion. There are 4 types of groups. There is a Book Group, Book Club, Book Group Organization and Literary Critiquing. Lets discuss each type of group.
Book Group A Book Group is gathering of people with a common interest in books to discuss diverse points-of-view of context.
Book Club Before defining a Book Club, let discuss what a Club is. A Club as defined by the Encarta World English Dictionary is an association of people with a common interest; a plan or organization in which members receive price reductions in return for regular purchases. A Book Club is an organization in which people purchase a membership to have access to a variety of books for sale whether at a regular price, discount price and gain information about the books and their authors.
Book Group Organization A Book Group Organization is same a Book Group expect it has a business goal also. An Organization as defined by the Encarta World English Dictionary is a group of people identified by shared interests or purpose, for example, a business; the coordinating of separate elements into a unit or structure. A Book Group Organization is a register business such as a non-profit business or a for-profit business establishing a book group with a business goal of civic/social/community/professional responsibility.
Literary Critiquing Literary Critiquing groups are very unique. These groups contribute to books being published. This is a group of people who are future novelist that gather to review and critique each other writings.
